Role Summary Join our APAC Legal team in Singapore as Commercial Counsel, reporting to the Director of Legal APAC. You’ll partner with sales and cross-functional teams to structure, draft, negotiate, and close agreements with customers, partners, and suppliers, supporting regional growth. An experienced legal professional, you’ll excel in public sector and complex enterprise technology deals, bringing strong negotiation skills, client focus, and a willingness to go the extra mile. With keen judgment and attention to detail, you’ll navigate sophisticated contracts and complex business, technical, and legal issues in a collaborative, cross-time-zone environment. What you will do Structure, draft, negotiate and provide strategic advice on a wide range of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, data protection agreements, complex partnership agreements, reseller agreements, professional services agreements. The scope will involve supporting tenders and RFPs. Actively involved in and effectively collaborate with sales representatives, deployment strategists, applied AI engineers, data scientists, infosec, government affairs, marketing, communications and finance to support commercial success and ensure legal and regulatory compliance in APAC. Ownership and accountability to the team to deliver meaningful results, define priorities and manage clients amidst changing deadlines and demands. Stay updated on and ensure compliance with the latest AI-related legal and regulatory developments in APAC, and provide awareness and guidance to the organization on potential risks and opportunities. Proactively identify areas for improvement and deliver customised training and support to the regional team on legal and compliance matters related to AI and our business. Enable and equip one another with on-the-job coaching, sharing best practices and feedback to better support and grow the business as a team. Provide general legal support as needed (e.g., labor law, corporate matters, data privacy, procurement agreements and other contracts). Contribute towards operational excellence and pragmatic process improvement to support the growing business. You don’t hesitate to go the extra mile to support the team and the business and a strong desire to do the right thing and uphold professional conduct, integrity and ethics. About you Educational Background : Bachelor degree or above (LLB, LLM, Juris Doctor preferred) from an accredited law school and admission to practice law at least in Singapore. Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, including negotiating complex technology transactions preferably in an AI-focused environment or related technology field and at least 5 years in-house experience at technology companies covering Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
